Drabble meme
I see
lost_spook has kept her side of the deal, so now I suppose now I have to keep mine...
The boilerplate bit:
The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request that I write a drabble of any pairing/character with a prompt. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level.
The specific bit:
If you're not familiar with my past attempts at fanfic, I have pages at Teaspoon and AO3, from which you can get some idea of the kind of thing I write. My fiction log and my tag list will give you some idea of my current interests.
Fair warning: The meme boilerplate mentions pairings, but I personally don't do the 'shipping thing very well. I don't watch movies or TV programs and decide that two of the characters are obviously secretly Meant For Each Other. When people point me to scenes that convinced them that something was going on, I never see whatever it was they saw. (I did, once -- once -- watch a movie and find myself thinking there was romantic subtext going on between two of the characters. It came as something of a surprise.)
Also: Feel free to ignore the bit about having to propagate the meme. I disapprove generally of memes that do that -- a real meme would get passed around because people wanted to, without needing to ask -- so I won't be checking up on anybody.

Changing the subject completely, have a prompt: Delilah Tod being forced to team up with Jack Harkness.
(If you want to ask me for one, my post still has plenty of blank slots).

But that's even worse! I have enough trouble seeing that two characters have potential together when I've actually seen them together; figuring it out when I've only seen each in isolation is way beyond me.

In a drabble?

Out of curiosity: how do you feel about canon relationships? (I'm a sucker for them, but am still mostly a gen person)

The true meaning of smekday: what the world (edit: or australia specifically!) thinks about and how it deals with having all those identical cats
Hmm. I tend to steer clear of single-author canons, but I'll see what I can do. It may have to wait until I can get the book back out of the library and refresh my memory of the details, though.

Now I'm sitting on it for a bit to give myself a chance to spot whatever I would otherwise have noticed three minutes after I posted it.
