I've occasionally seen them about the place (mostly in supermarket discount bins, it has to be said), but not really paid a lot of attention; hardboiled is not my thing.
But I have discovered today that there is at least one book in the line-up that I'll be seriously tempted to buy every copy of that crosses my path:
On the grounds that it is "the first real hardboiled detective story", they've also published The Valley of Fear by "A. C. Doyle, Best-Selling Author of 'THE LOST WORLD'".
Yes, that Valley of Fear, that Doyle. (That Lost World.)
With a retro-pulp lurid cover that must be seen to be believed.
