Five Links Make a Post

1. The Limitations of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a video essay by Patrick Willems about the development of the MCU and why he isn't as excited when a new MCU movie comes out as he used to be, which has helped clarify my own feelings on the same subject.


2. Vote Compass is available again for the 2019 Australian federal election. The way it works is that you rate a series of statements about public policy issues currently in the public eye, then it shows you where the major parties stand on the same issues and which one your answers most closely match. This time out, four parties are included: the Coalition (right-conservative, the current party of government), Labor (left-progressive, the current party of opposition), the Greens (extreme left-progressive), and One Nation (extreme right-conservative). My overall result was about where I expected, as it usually is, but seeing the details was interesting.


3. Ben Aaronovitch's fantasy series Rivers of London is being developed as a TV adaptation, with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as executive producers.


4.
