"Lady Heterodyne," the guard reported, "we found this wandering around near the East Gate. It appears to be some kind of clank."

"Again with the 'clank'," groused the intruder. "It's not my fault my joints are noisy, I had a rough landing. If it bothers you so much, give back my knapsack, it's got an oilcan in it."

"Landing?" said Agatha. "You came by airship?"

"Dimensional portal," said the clank, its blue eyes tracking around the room. "I don't think this is where I was aiming for, either. I knew I shoulda taken a left turn at the Vampire Dimension."
