One corollary of the upcoming National Brass Band Competition is that I'll be in Brisbane for a few days. I've never been to Brisbane before. Anybody got any suggestions for things I should try to see while I'm there?
South Bank, there's a museum and art gallery there and even a little science museum in the basement if that's your sort of thing. Take the ferry up and down the river. There's a free one that is NOT the CAT.
If you're going to be using public transport at all get one of the Go cards (I think they're called) you can get one for a deposit, put money on it, use it and at the end of the trip hand it back in and get your deposit and any unused money on it back.
