Note to self for future reference:

If installing new washers on the shower taps doesn't help as much as you were expecting, the next thing to try is taking the shower head off the wall and clearing all the bits of the old washers out of the particle filter.

Also, having a shower that works properly is 100% worth the effort it takes to do these things.

Absolutely worth the effort! Also soaking the shower head in white vinegar to descale it is good.
