I came across a theory recently that dreaming, instead of or in addition to being about consolidating the day's memories, is about limbering up the neural pathways that might be needed in the day ahead.

If so, my brain is apparently confident that today I'll be playing Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Batman didn't actually appear in the dream. Nor did Arkham, really. It was more that the action of the dream played out as if it were a video game in the style of. And there's only one game in that style that I've been playing recently.

Well, it reminded me that it had been a week since last time I played, because whenever I had time to spare I thought of something that more urgently needed doing. I think a week is long enough to keep up that kind of nonsense, don't you?
