Today's the last day of Russell T. Davies producing Doctor Who.
I'm sure pretty much every one of us here has a relative somewhere in the family, maybe an aunt or a mother or a disapproving grandfather, who can never say something outright positive about someone without turning it into a gripe or a dig or some other kind of mixed message. We know what miserygutses they can be. But I'd love it if just once, just today, on his last day in the job, fans could pull apart their mass of mixed feelings and acknowledge the stuff that's just unalloyed positive. And thank him for it.
I don't think I'm up to a detailed enumeration, like some of the people in Jon's comment thread, but that oughtn't to stop me:
Yes. I have enjoyed far more than just one moment of the new Doctor Who. I have found much to be grateful for, and I am grateful for it.
Russell T. Davies, wherever you are: Thank you.
