I have achieved a stable draft reading order. Figuring out where all the short stories go wasn't too difficult; the trick was deciding what to do when a short story overlapped a novel (or two, or more, novels overlapped). The current reading plan feels, to me, like a good balance between chronological order and not-being-yanked-out-of-one-story-because-another-happens-to-be-occurring-simultaneously.
If you're interested in joining in or following along for some or all of the re-read, now would be a good time to check out the draft and see how you feel about it.
