1. I was right: the Doctor's presence was integral to the actual plan. Missy's gift raises some interesting questions. I'm not entirely sure I'm satisfied by the Doctor's answer.

2. I knew Osgood was doomed as soon as the Doctor started seeing her as companion material. I knew Kate Stewart was safe as soon as she was given a drawn-out death instead of being zapped outright.

3. If we had any doubts that Missy's aesthetic was "evil Mary Poppins", they were settled by her arrival in the graveyard. Which means that Clara's time with the Doctor has been book-ended with Mary Poppins motifs.

4. I want to know more about what happened between Danny and the kid in the Nethersphere. I noticed in the scene when Seb announced that they were all going home that the kid was back and seemed pretty comfortable hanging out with Danny. How did that happen? What did they find to talk about? Get on that, internet.

5. I remember there being a lot of speculation at the beginning of this season that the Doctor's face was going to be a plot point, but apart from the lantern-hanging in the first episode, nothing seems to have come of that. Unless it's going to crop up next season when we've all forgotten about it...

Also, everything Daibhid said.

4. My suspicion is that the boy was somehow related to the incident where Danny had killed civilians, that had been the dark thing haunting him all season. So, although it wasn't spelled out in so many words, I suspect their conversation revolved around Danny apologizing / commiserating that War is Hell. I'll have to go back and rewatch that scene in Dark Water, to make sure.

5. Yeah... I was wondering that, too. After all, there's all these rumors I've seen floating around that RTD had come up with a plot twist idea that would explain the connection between Caecilius' character in "Fires of Pompeii" and the Doctor, and that Moffat was going to use that ... But, considering how systematically Moffat has been rewriting all of Davies' additions to the DW fictiverse, I seriously doubt that. (Now that we've had four years-ish of each, I'll probably write a dedicated post about that, after I write up my overall series review). Personally, I'm wondering if the face/reminder isn't actually John Frobisher, from Torchwood, instead. In any case, I suspect you're right, and it will crop up later; it just feels like it should be a long story arc question -- like the hunt for Gallifrey.

Okay, thanks. I missed that trying-to-apologize scene. I was watching on a streaming site, and the video kept randomly going back to the beginning somewhere around around the midpoint. So after a while, I just let it run on mute while it replayed the scenes I'd already watched, and that apology must've got lost in the shuffle.

BTW, what episode is your "blue screen background" from?

Boy's face reflected in iPad when Danny trying to decide whether to delete his emotions. Any conversation between then and Seb. Poor Osgood. Those guards were rubbish.

I laughed at the references to Mary Poppins and to Mmonraker.

So who exactly was Osgood?
She appeared to be a random passer-by, but then she seems to be part of UNIT...
