Jun. 7th, 2011 11:51 pmI've mentioned before now that, being a week behind my friendslist on Doctor Who, I can't always avoid learning things about the upcoming episode that I'd rather have learned by watching the episode. I've mentioned that, in the case of "The Doctor's Wife", none of what I thought I'd learned turned out to be what I expected.
In the case of "The Almost People", I learned one big thing in advance, and it meant exactly what I thought it did.
(Nobody meant to give it away, but constructing a comment that is meaningful to those who've seen an episode without giving away anything to those who haven't yet is sometimes harder than it looks - particularly, perhaps, when it's part two of a two-parter. And the premise of the first episode did rather incline one to speculate in particular directions already.)
The episode contained plenty of other surprises, and I enjoyed it anyway, but I'd still have liked to have had that surprise too.
(And now I'm contemplating whether it might be an idea to actively avoid some or all of the internet entirely until next Saturday, just in case somebody else mentions something I'd rather they hadn't.)
