Also from Michael Swanwick, a heartwarming Christmas story. "Though it's not really a story but an anecdote. Nor is it heartwarming, not really. Actually, it's kind of cynical. That's because every word of it is absolutely true."
Christmas is... interesting. Jonathan Coulton's musical tribute to classic Christmas tales, with running ASL translation (and awesome facial expressions) by Stephen Torrance. (via) Warnings: Occasional strong language, and if you're one of the people who's not having a happy holiday it might strike too close to the bone. Try Chiron Beta Prime instead; if you're having the kind of holiday where the idea of spending Christmas dealing with evil space robots strikes too close to the bone, you're probably past the point where funny songs in ASL can help.

The difference between "translation" and "interpretation" that interpreting happens on the fly, and the interpreter doesn't know what's coming... (via)
